Ski touring in Maira Valley / Piemont
Valle Maira is a gem of a ski touring area! The locals call it “Paradiso dello scialpinismo“ for a reason!
This hidden valley provides enough ski challenges for everyone from wide cruising flanks to steep gullies for the most experienced.
Piemont is famous for its excellent wines – just think Barolo, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo. The great Italian cuisine will recharge your batteries after a day of skiing.
In an attempt to keep the original architecture intact, traditional buildings were tastefully transformed into cozy lodges – such as the family run Le Marmotte. Just wait to see the deck – the perfect spot for a sundowner.
I came across this magical place during a family vacation on bikes – and since then have been dreaming of returning on skis.
